ELKINS, W. Va. - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (4-15, 1-9 G-MAC) lost a Great Midwest Athletic Conference game in three sets (23-25, 19-25, 16-25) to Davis & Elkins College (6-11, 4-5 G-MAC) on Saturday in the McDonnell Center.

The Trojans jumped out to a 6-3 lead in the opening set before Senators were able to tie it at 9-9. After rallying to tie the set at 21-21, the Trojans dropped set one 23-25. The Trojans once again took the early lead at 5-3. The Senators tied it at 10-10, before taking set 25-19. In set three, the Trojans took a 6-4 lead, before the Senators took five straight points. The Trojans lost set three, 16-25.

Jordan Sprinkle (JR/Leopold, IN) led the way for the Trojans with a hitting percentage of .333% (6 K, 2 E, 12 TA) while Morgan Swanger (FR/Marion, IA) added a team-high seven kills … Miranda Bingham (SR/Safford, AZ) led the team with 14 digs while also adding 21 assists …  Five Trojans had at least five kills as the team combined for a total of 33.

WHAT'S NEXT 

Trevecca faces non-conference foe Christian Brothers University (9-10, 4-3 GSC) at Trojan Fieldhouse on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 6:00 PM. This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams in the NCAA era. Trevecca is 1-2 against Christian Brothers winning their last game against them last year in four sets.
