Box Score AURORA, Ill. – The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (12-9, 5-0 G-MAC) lost to a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference members, Drury University (14-7, 6-3 GLVC) and No. 12 Lewis University (16-5, 9-0 GLVC), in their final two matches at the 2016 Mizuno Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover at the Great Lakes Center.

The Trojans return home to take on Kentucky State University (14-15, 10-4 SIAC) on Tuesday, October 18 at 6 PM. Bring a medium sized stuff animal to toss on the court during the break between the second and third sets. The stuffed animals will go to children at a school nearby the Trojan campus. It is also cancer awareness night, so wear pink and come support the Trojans.

Trevecca's Katelyn Atkinson (SR/Hermitage, TN) earned all-tournament honors after hitting .167 (40 kills, 23 errors, 102 attacks) at the 2016 Crossover. Atkinson added six sets, a service ace, 26 digs, an a block.

TNU vs Drury University (L 23-25, 23-25, 16-25)
The Panthers, located in Springfield, Mo., edged the Trojans 25-23 in each of the first two sets and took the match in three with a 25-16 third set win.

Trevecca trailed by as many as six in the first set (15-9), but rallied to tie the match at 22 for the first time. Trevecca trailed 22-19, but pulled ahead 23-22 with four straight. Drury scored their final three points for the win.

The Trojans best set was the second when they hit for .159 (14 kills, 7 errors, 44 attacks). Trevecca lead early as Drury took their first lead at 9-8 as part of a 5-0 run that put the Panthers up 11-8. Drury held the lead until the Trojans tied the match at 23-23 with a 6-2 run. The Panthers got the side out to setup set-point and got the win to go up 2-0. There were four ties and a a lead change.

Drury led the entire third set after jumping out to a 10-4 lead.

Katelyn Atkinson led the Trojans with 10 kills. Alex Reuter (SO/Brentwood, TN) hit for .312 (6-1-16) and added two blocks.

Drury was led by Sarah Kite with 14 kills and a .407 hitting percentage and Brooke Atenen added 12 kills, 19 assists and 16 digs.

TNU vs No. 12 Lewis University (L 19-25, 16-25, 19-25)
Against the Flyers, located in Romeoville, Ill., the Trojans battled in the first and third sets, but could not push through for a set win. Trevecca hit .139 (33 kills, 18 errors, 108 attacks) for the match.

The Flyers led the entire way in the first set. The Trojans led early in set two, but the Flyers used a 9-3 run to take a 11-6 lead and held off the Trojans for the 2-0 lead.

With the third set tied 3-3, Flyers pulled ahead with a 7-3 run and a 10-6 advantage. The Trojans stayed in touch, but could never close the gap to tie or take the lead.

Katelyn Atkinson hit for .333 (10-2-24) with seven digs. Claire Reinthaler (JR/Heyworth, IL) have five kills and no errors with two blocks. Alex Reuter had six kills and two errors. Ashleigh Lozier (JR/Murfreesboro, TN) led the team with 12 digs.

Elizabeth Hyland led the Flyers' with her second double-double of the afternoon and hit .393 (15-4-28) and 10 digs against the Trojans.
