Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (10-6, 3-0 G-MAC) defeated visiting Ohio Valley University (4-14, 0-1 G-MAC) at the Trojan Fieldhouse 3-1 (25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20) in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) battle. Trevecca hosts Cedarville University (11-3, 1-0 G-MAC) at 1 PM on Saturday at the Fieldhouse.

The Trojans are on a five-match win streak. Trevecca is 3-2 now all-time versus OVU, having won the last two in the series.

Trevecca bookended solid attack percentages in the first (.278) and fourth (.344) sets in the win. OVU scored the first point in all four sets, but in the first two sets it was one of the only leads the Fighting Scots would own.

The Fighting Scots led 8-7 and remained close when Trevecca, leading 16-15, used a 5-0 run to separate for the win in the first set.

In that first set Alyx Henry and Katelyn Atkinson (SR/Hermitage, TN), the two G-MAC career kills leaders, each had five kills a piece. Atkinson, who trailed Henry by 16 career kills coming into the match, had a 19-11 edge in kills over Henry in the match. Henry leads Atkinson by eight career kills now. Additionally, the duo is number two and three on the NCAA Division II active career kills leaders list.

After taking a 6-2 lead Trevecca saw OVU rally back to tie the match at 6-6 and Trevecca led 13-12 at about the midway point. Trevecca used a 6-2 run for a 19-14 lead and later lead by as many as seven (23-17).

The third set was clearly the tightest through out with neither team gaining more than a four-point lead. The match was tied 18-18 when the Scots rolled off four straight for the only four-point lead of the match. Trevecca closed the gap to one at 24-23, but an Alyx Henry kill on the next serve pushed the set to the Scots.

The Scots led for much of the fourth set and held a 17-16 lead on a Megan Morrison service ace. The match was tied 19-19 moments later when the Trojans score four straight for a 23-19 advantage and the Trojans held off the Scots for the win.

Clare Taylor (SO/Milan, TN) filled the stat sheet with 18 kills, a .195 attack percentage, six assists, four service aces, 16 digs, and three blocks for a 23.5 point night. Katelyn Atkinson added 19 kills, a .268 attack percentage, two assists, 12 digs, and two blocks for 20 points. Hanna Matthews (FR/Ooltewah, TN) added 47 assists, seven digs, a block, and seven kills with zero errors. Janessa Hodge (SO/Nashville, MI) produced four blocks, two digs, and five kills. Alex Reuter (SO/Brentwood, TN) delivered seven kills and five blocks.
