HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Trevecca (2-1) split of their two Friday matches at the 2015 Hilton Garden Suites UAH Classic. First, TNU defeated William Jewell (0-2) in three straight 25-23, 25-16, 25-16 morning match. In the afternoon match, Trevecca lost in three, 15-25, 20-25, 19-25, to Ouachita Baptist (2-0).

On Saturday the Purple and White will face Southern Arkansas (1-1) at 11 AM and then end their stay with a match with UAH (3-0) Chargers (3-0) at 5 PM. (Live Stats vs So. AR | Live Stats/Video vs UAH)

No Trojans had more than six kills, but the balanced attack saw seven different Trojans claim at least two kills. Loren Bennett (SR/Ooltewah, TN) collected 18 assists in the short match and had two service aces. Bennett turned in her second double-double in as many matches with 10 digs. 

Trevecca coach Jayme Crowley said, "We were able to get the win in straight sets for a 3-0 victory."

Katelyn Atkinson (JR/Hermitage, TN) led the way with 12 kills and a .214 attack percentage. Atkinson added 12 digs for her first double-double of the year. Bennett added 33 assists and six digs. Stephanie Bouchard (SO/Chattanooga, TN) had five kills and six digs. Allison Boe (SR/Murrieta, CA) chipped in seven digs.

Trevecca coach Jayme Crowley commented, "Our offense needs to catch up with our defense right now, but we played the game close in the final two sets. 

As a team Trevecca hit a negative .065 in the first set, but bounced back to hit .179 and .226 in the second and third sets. 

Trevecca opened their season on Thursday with a 3-0 sweep of Stillman (0-4).
