CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca men's soccer team (3-5, 2-3 G-MAC) lost 4-2 on the road at Cedarville University (6-1-1, 4-0 G-MAC) on Wednesday afternoon at Yellow Jacket field.

Trevecca fell behind 2-0 in the first 10 minutes and were down 3-0 after 20 minutes, but scored the next two goals to battle back.

Cedarville, the three-time defending G-MAC Champions, leads the series 0-6-1 since the teams moved to NCAA Division II play. The teams tied 2-2 last September in Ohio, before that the Yellow Jackets had claimed victory in the first five meetings. CU surprised the Trojans 7-2 in Nashville last year. CU will visit the Trevecca campus on October 17th at 6 PM.

Connor Gilmour, the 2014 G-MAC Offensive Player of the Year, broke the scoring open with his 8th goal of the season in the 7th minute (7:36) on an assist from Jon Brown.  Gilmour scored his 9th goal of the season less than three minutes later in the 10th minute (10:03) for the 2-0 early lead for CU.

Derek Braak scored just more than nine minutes later in the 19th minute (19:49) for a 3-0 Yellow Jacket lead. Brown picked up his second assist.

Trevecca settled down and began to get some chances and finally found the back of the nets after Jeremiah Wright (JR/Columbia, TN) got in deep, but lost the ball. Nicolas Reinhard (FR/Germany) was right there and cleaned it up to put the Trojans on the board in the 25th minute (25:23) with his second career goal.

The teams went to the second period with CU leading 3-1.

Trevecca kept the pressure on in the second period and cut the lead to one on a header from Samuel Mummert (SR/Mt. Juliet, TN), his second goal of the year in the 60th minute (60:17) with an assist from Reinhard.

The Yellow Jackets began to get the ball on their half of the field more regularly and in the 78th minute (78:49) freshman Derek Braak scored his second game of the game and season unassisted for a 4-2 Cedarville advantage.

Paulo Pinto had two saves for Cedarville while Trevecca's Daniel Mudd (JR/Shelbyville, TN) collected eight saves and the team two.
