Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca volleyball team (4-3) defeated Oakland City College (1-2) in four sets, 25-22, 26-24, 18-25, 25-15 in the final match of the first day of the sixth annual Scott Jones Classic at the Trojan Fieldhouse.

Trevecca will play Embry Riddle University (5-0) at 10 AM and Bellarmine University (3-3) at 2 PM on Saturday. Embry Riddle and OCU will play at Noon to round out the schedule of the 2015 SJC. All the matches will be broadcast over the Trojan Sports Network (WATCH LIVE).

Coach Jayme Crowley said, "That was a nice win over a team that always plays us tough. I was proud of our team for rallying in the first two sets and then shaking off the third set loss. We had a number of players play a key role."

In set one OCU jumped out early and led 8-3. With the Oaks leading 12-7, the Trojans rallied to take a 14-13 lead. OCU returned the favor and regained the lead and held a 21-18 advantage late. Trevecca responded and claimed a 25-22 victory.

Set number two was similar. OCU led 8-5 and later led 13-10. Trevecca rallied for a 20-17 lead and looked to be pulling away. The Oaks turned the table again and held set point at 24-23. Trevecca got a sideout and then served out for a 26-24 win and a 2-0 advantage.

Trevecca led for much of the third set. Trevecca led 17-14, but Oakland City scored nine straight including eight straight off the serve of Kayla White for a 23-17 lead. They held off the Trojans for a 25-18 win.

Set four held drama as well with OCU taking a 7-4 lead and lead 11-9 before the Trojans answered with a 9-0 run for a 18-11 lead. Clare Taylor (FR/Milan, TN) served for eight straight points for the Trojans. Trevecca held the lead and Mia Faragalli (FR/Franklin, TN) served out the win for the Trojans.

A number of Trojans had big numbers. Katelyn Atkinson (JR/Hermitage, TN) had a double-double with 20 kills and 15 digs and a .375 attack percentage. Loren Bennett (SR/Ooltewah, TN) had 52 assists and 13 digs while hitting on two big kills.

Zakia Jackson (SR/Hermitage, TN) and Alex Reuter (FR/Brentwood, TN) each had 11 kills. Jackson added seven digs. Clare Taylor had eight kills and two service aces and 13 digs. Allison Boe (SR/Murrieta, CA), from the libero position, had 14 digs.  ÂÂ
