CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca (2-3-1) men's soccer team would play to a 2-2 draw in the G-MAC conference opener against Cedarville University (2-1-2).

The Trojans will return to the pitch on Wednesday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m. returning home to the Trojan Soccer Complex.

The Yellow Jackets came into the match as the G-MAC pre-season favorites to win the conference.

Cedarville, on paper, was the more aggressive team firing 23 shots towards the net forcing keeper, Braydon Brown to make nine saves. Trevecca would force 15 shots forcing 5 saves.

The Yellow Jackets broke the tie early in the second half with a goal in the 58th minute.

Bruno De Moraes equalized the match with a goal in the 73rd minute.

The tie would not last long. Bruno De Moraes was granted the corner in the 79th minute. De Moraes sent the ball high into the box for Ryan Walls who won the header to the net for the go-ahead score. 

The lead would not last, as the Yellow Jackets scored with less than one minute remaining in regulation forcing the match to go extra time.

The match would be forced to go to double overtime. Both teams would have an opportunity for goal in the final two minutes of the match, but both keepers would stand tall to keep the match equal.
