Box Score ROME, Ga. - The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (5-8-1, 3-3-1 G-MAC) dropped a 2-0 decision to Shorter University (6-7-1, 4-2 Gulf South Conference) Tuesday night at Ben Brady Field.Â

The Trojans return home to wrap up Great Midwest Athletic Conference action Thursday night at 7pm against Southwest division leader Cedarville University (9-4-2, 5-0-1). Trevecca will conclude its regular season October 28th at 7:30pm against Lincoln Memorial University (7-3-2).

Freshman Charlie Dennis got the Hawks on the board at the 25:39 mark, beating Trevecca keeper
Braydon Brown (SR/Brownsburg, Ind.) for his third goal of the season to give Shorter a 1-0 lead.Â

The Trojans had multiple chances to level the match before the break, but shots by
Juan Egas (SR/Quito, Ecuador),
Bruno De Moraes (SR/Sau Paulo, Brazil), and
Jeremiah Wright (SO/Columbia, Tenn.) failed to find the mark, and the Hawks took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Early in the second half, Shorter extended its lead, as senior Irvin Espinal took a feed from classmate Robert Ochieng and buried his seventh goal of the season to make it 2-0 Hawks.

Trevecca was unable to generate many chances after halftime, and Hawks keeper Nicolas Ferrigno saved the only shot on goal he faced to preserve the shutout. Brown made eight saves for Trevecca in the loss.Â
