Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. - The Trevecca men's soccer team (8-9-1) were eliminated by second seeded Cedarville University (13-3-3) 6-2 in Thursday's semifinal match of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships. The match was played at Davis & Elkins College, the top seed and host of the 2013 G-MAC men's soccer championships.

The Yellow Jackets took control early with a Todd McKinley goal at 10:45 and moments later Dillon King scored at 12:40 for a 2-0 Cedarville lead. Trevecca's Samuel Mummert scored, unassisted, the Trojans first goal at 27:48, cutting the CU lead in half.

Three more first half goals highlighted a high-scoring first half and put the Yellow Jackets up 4-2 at the break.

Joel Twinem scored the next CU goal at 39:08 for a 3-1 Cedarville lead. Merely 20 seconds later Trevecca's Matthew Esquivel answered with a  goal, assisted by Mummert, at 39:28 to again bring the Trojans to within a goal of CU. Cedarville wasn't through with their first half scoring and added a Christian Alexander goal on a header at 41:30 for a 4-2 Yellow Jacket lead at the break.

CU tacked on two more security goals in the second half and ended TNU's season 6-2.

Cedarville had 18 shots while the Trojans had eight. Braydon Brown worked in goal for Trevecca and delivered five saves while Ethan Dewhurst had three saves in goal for CU.Â

Esquivel scored his fourth goal of the year while Mummert scored his first and collected his first assist of the year. Brown ends the season with a 6-7-1 record in goal. Â

The loss ends the season for Trevecca at 8-9-1.
