Box Score MASON, Ohio – Kristen Johnson and Katelyn Atkinson helped lead the Trevecca Nazarene (9-5, 2-1 G-MAC) volleyball team to a four-set victory over Ohio Valley (7-13, 1-2 G-MAC) Saturday morning at the Courts4Sports Gym as a part of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Crossover.

Johnson recorded her fifth triple-double of the year with 11 kills, 10 digs and 20 assists while Atkinson totaled a match-high 16 kills to go with 18 digs

In the first set, the Trojans found themselves down four (8-4) before rallying to tie the match at 11 following a Kirsten Taylor kill. Trevecca would gain the lead for good on the next point as Alyx Henry, the conference's leader in kills, had an attack error bringing the score to 12-11 TNU. Atkinson gave the Trojans their biggest lead (24-16) with her fifth kill of the set. Trevecca hit an efficient .290 while holding Ohio Valley to a .097 mark.

Haley Bonar would assist the Trojans with a bad set that gave TNU a 2-1 lead in the second set. Trevecca would not lose that lead the rest of the way. Taylor gave Trevecca its biggest lead (17-11) following a kill on an assist from Johnson. The Fighting Scots pulled the deficit to within two points after a kill by Zartman (21-19) but that would be the closest they would get. Persephonie Devereaux closed the set with a kill.

Zartman would lead Ohio Valley to a third-set win with seven kills that staved off defeat for the Fighting Scots. It was a fight early on and after an Imani Ward kill tied the match at 5, OVU would go on a 7-2 run finished off by a Zartman kill. The Trojans, down eight (24-16), nearly rallied to tie the match as Shelby Sorce recorded four service aces and OVU provided three attack errors giving TNU hope. But a Devereaux attack error would give the Fighting Scots a 25-23 victory.

In the fourth set, TNU would lead throughout and had its biggest lead (20-10) following an attack error by Amanda Weatherwax. The Trojan would claim victory winning 25-15.

Sorce paced the Trojans' defense with 22 digs and Caroline Gay added 15 assists. Loren Bennett contributed 11 assists while Devereaux chipped in with 10 kills.

Felicia Zartman led Ohio Valley with 13 kills while Imani Ward added 10. Jessica Simpson dished out a match-high 40 assists and Megan Morrison paced the Fighting Scots defense with 22 digs.
