CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Cedarville University (16-2-1) held on for a 3-2 win over Trevecca (9-9) after the Trojans cut the Yellow Jackets early 2-0 lead to just one on two occasions. The loss in the 2012 Great Midwest Conference Semifinals ends the season for the Trojans.

The host Yellow Jackets scored just 3:11 into the match when Christian Alexander scored his fifth of the year with an assist from Ryan Thurman. Just 30 seconds before the first half ended CU scored again. This time it was Zachary Harris who scored his third of the year with an assist from Daniel Rigby.

In the second half Bruno De Moraes scored at 65:37 unassisted. The goal cut the CU lead in half at 2-1. Zack Gatlin scored minutes later to extend the Yellow Jackets lead to two again at 3-1. Ryan Walls made things interesting with a TNU goal at 79:12. It was Walls third of the year and Jonathan Baskin assisted on the goal.

Daniel Mudd played in goal for the Trojans and had three saves. Ethan Dewhurst was in goal for Cedarville and had three saves.
