Box Score

NASHVILLE – No. 18-ranked (NCAA D2) Lincoln Memorial University (3-0) powered past Trevecca Nazarene University (1-4) 73-52 Tuesday night in a non-conference men's basketball matchup at the Trojan Fieldhouse.

Jake Troylie led four LMU scorers in double-figures with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting including three 3-pointers. Wally Jones added 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Dustin Craig came off the bench to record a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Cam Carden rounded out the Railsplitters scoring effort with 12 points.

Trevecca's Maliek Daniels scored a game-high 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field. He also pulled down seven rebounds.  JP Nyadaro added 10 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the free throw line, grabbed three rebounds and blocked two shots. Marquise Rudolph added eight points and four assists for TNU.

Nyadaro gave the Trojans their first and only lead of the game in the opening minute after he converted a pair of free throws.

Lincoln Memorial would then go on a 19-4 run to go up 19-6 following a Jones three-pointer with 13:14 remaining in the first half. The Railsplitters would close the first half with a 7-0 run to enter the break with a 39-19 lead.

LMU shot 53.8% (14-of-26) from the field in the first half while Trevecca hit just 25% (7-of-28).

In the second half, Trevecca would pull the game to a 12-point deficit following a Daniels layup with 14:59 remaining but it would be the closest the Trojans would get the rest of the way.  LMU would respond though with a 10-2 run to go back up by 20 following another three-pointer from Jones.

Lincoln Memorial out-scored Trevecca 16-8 in the paint and held an 8-2 advantage in second-chance points.

Trevecca returns to action Nov. 23 as they take on Southern Nazarene (1-1) at the Nazarene Thanksgiving Classic in Olathe, Kan., for a 5 p.m. tipoff.
