NASHVILLE,
Tenn. - The Trojan volleyball team (3-3) got back on the winning track
Friday night with a win over Lindsey Wilson (1-6) in the final game of
day one of the inaugural Scott Jones Classic at Moore Gym. The Trojans
knocked off the Blue Raiders in four games, 21-25, 25-16, 28-26, and
25-18.
After a quick start in game one that saw the Trojans jump
out to a 6-1 lead, Lindsey Wilson did a nice job of bouncing back to
take control and win the opening game. And with a 16-13 Blue Raider
lead in game two, Trevecca looked to be in trouble. But the Trojans
scored the final 12points of the game to win going away. A very tight third game could have gone either
way, with the Trojans able to pull out an exciting finish, before pulling away in game four to win the match.
Cassidy Watkins had 19 kills and 12 digs, Brooke Cannon
had 40 assists, Maddie Burford had 11 kills and five digs, and Kristen
Johnson played a solid all-around game with eight kills, 12 digs, and
three assists.
