Box Score LEBANON, Tenn. - Trevecca
(12-18, 6-10 TranSouth) wrapped up the 2008-2009 regular season on Saturday at NAIA
No. 15 Cumberland University (24-4, 13-3 TranSouth), with the Bulldogs running away with the 87-50 victory. Trevecca finished sixth in the TranSouth regular season and will play at Cumberland University on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
Cumberland
scored the first 13 points of the game before Brian Oduor
got the Trojans on the board with 16:11 to play in the first half.
Trevecca did not reach double digits until the 8:16 mark when they cut
the
Bulldogs' lead to 28-10. Cumberland continued to stretch out the lead
for the remainder of the half, and at the break Cumberland led 38-23.
Trevecca
quickly cut the deficit to 12 with a Michael France three-pointer, but
Cumberland responded with a 10-0 run to stretch the lead to 22. With
7:08 to
play in the game, the Bulldogs' lead reached 25 for the first time at
65-40, and with 2:33 to go, the lead hit 30 for the first time at
78-48. Over
the final two minutes and change, Cumberland continued to pull away,
taking the 87-50 win.

Brian Oduor was the only Trojan in double figures with 19 points, and
he also led the Trojans with nine rebounds.

The Trojans never led in the game. As a team, Trevecca shot 20-of-56
(35.7%) from the floor, 2-of-18 (11.1%) from long range, and 8-of-11 (72.7%) from the charity stripe.
The Trojans will face Cumberland again in the quarterfinal round of the
TranSouth Tournament on Thursday night in Lebanon. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
