Ellie Buffler capped her career with 73 services aces, an NCAA Div. II Era record at Trevecca, breaking her own record of 49 last year. The 73 also topped the G-MAC season ranking. She finished with 26 more aces than the person in second place. Buffler finished the season with the third most career service aces among active NCAA D2 volleyball players.

On the career level, Buffler collected the second most kills in program history (1,351 / 3.47 ps) and leads in service aces (184). She is second in points (1,612.5) and sixth in digs (970). Her career-hitting percentage is .195 and ended the season with 135 career blocks.

2022 21-12 11-6 2-1
2021 19-11 9-7 1-1
2020 6-8 5-6 0-1
2019 16-17 7-6 0-1
TOTAL 75-66 41-34 3-4

The Trojans started strong getting an early win over No. 25 Lynn University. The 2023-2024 team was led by Emma Titus who led the Great Midwest in kills per game (3.72) and points (4.25 per set). She had a total of 406 kills on the year and added in 24 service aces, 61 blocks, and 463.5 points. Maddie Wilds finished second in points (303.5 / 2.71 ps) and kills (253) while leading the team in service aces with 36. Wilds finished third in digs (284 / 2.54 ps). Emilee McDonald led the team in assists (761). She also collected a triple-double against Upper Iowa at the Region Crossover. Katie Crutchfield led the team in digs (448) and was second in service aces (32). Reese Payne led the team with 99 blocks.

The memorable 2022-2023 season brought several team and individual accomplishments, in particular for the NCAA Division II era. The team finished 21-12 overall and 11-6 in Great Midwest play. The 21 wins are the most since the 2012 team put up 23 in the first year of NCAA play. That 2012 team finished as the runner-up at the conference championships. The 19 regular season wins, the most since the 2012 squad finished with 22 regular season wins. The 11-conference wins are tied for the second-most in program history. The 2007 team owns the most league wins (13 TranSouth). The team opened the season winning four in a row, all in the second annual Ray Thrasher Classic. The team also added a five-match win streak, those five were in league play. The 2009 and 2003 teams had 11 league wins. The Trojans advanced to this season's Great Midwest Championship match. It is the ninth time the team has reached the conference championships in its 11 seasons in the Great Midwest.

The 2021-2022 team recorded a 19-win season and advanced to the Great Midwest Semifinals for the first time since 2015. Trevecca opened the season, winning their first seven matches and had another six-match win streak later in the season, which propelled them to the No. 5 seed in the Great Midwest tournament. The 7-0 start is the best for a Trojan squad since the 2003-2004 team started 8-0. The 19 wins are the most for head coach Emily Moore and the most since the 2015 team collected 20. It is the first winning season for Moore at Trevecca.

Still, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 season was uniquely pushed to the spring of 2021, which saw the Trojans finish 6-8 overall and 5-6 in Great Midwest play. After earning the seventh seed in the G-MAC tournament, the Trojans fell to Walsh for the second time in as many seasons in the quarterfinals. Austyn Baldwin, along with Ellie Buffler, were both named to the G-MAC All-Conference first team. In true COVID fashion, the 2021 spring season saw many firsts. Unconventionally, the Trojans won the final game of their season despite losing in the G-MAC tournament with a 3-2 defeat of Sewanee. Additionally, due to travel restrictions and COVID concerns, the Trojans' trip to Canton, Ohio, saw them face off against both Malone and Walsh on the same day.

In the 2019 season, Under Moore’s direction, the Trojans jumped out to a hot 6-2 start to the season in which they finished 16-17 overall with the sixth-best G-MAC mark of 7-5. A signature win for the Trojans, led almost exclusively by freshmen (7) and sophomores (8), came when they rallied to defeat the University of Findlay on Senior Day, which was also on Homecoming.

Moore directed the Trojans to the postseason for the first time in three seasons. Although their G-MAC tournament bid came up short in the quarterfinals when they fell 3-2 to Walsh, Ellie Buffler was named G-MAC Freshman of the Year, while Austyn Baldwin was a first-team selection.

For a coach in their first season, Moore’s 16 victories tie Terry Quarles’ first campaign in 1984 as second-most for any coach in their first year. Steve Harris won 18 games, the most for any first-year coach in Trevecca history, when his team went 18-12 in 1979.

TROJAN COACHING HISTORY

In the 45-year history of the Trevecca volleyball program before Moore, there were 14 head coaches, but just two head coaches in the immediately previous 22 years. Scott Jones and Jayme Crowley each served as the TNU volleyball program's head coach for 11 seasons.

MOORE BEFORE TREVECCA

A native of Nashville, Moore is a longtime high school and club volleyball coach in the middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky area. In the last 13 years, her high school teams have made six state tournament appearances, including a TSSAA State runner-up finish in 2013. Moore was instrumental in the recruiting process for several of her former players who have gone on to compete at the college level.

Moore began her coaching career at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green, KY, while completing her undergraduate degree at Western Kentucky University.

In her three years as an assistant coach with the Greenwood program (2005-2007), the Gators amassed three district and region tournament championships, ending each season with a KHSSA State Tournament appearance. In 2006, she helped establish Vette City VBC (later to become BRAVO), the first club volleyball program in the south-central Kentucky area.

In 2008, Moore returned to her high school alma mater in Nashville as the head volleyball coach at Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet School. While at Hume-Fogg, Moore's teams won six district championships, three region championships, three sectional championships, and made three TSSAA state tournament appearances. In 2013, Hume-Fogg finished as the Division I-AA State Runner-up. Hume-Fogg remains the most successful volleyball team in TSSAA postseason competition for any public school in any classification in Metro Nashville, TN.

While at Hume-Fogg, Moore received Coach of the Year accolades in 2013, 2014, and 2016. She also helped five players earn athletic scholarships at NCAA Division I institutions (including Kennesaw State University, Tulane University, University Alabama-Birmingham, University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, and Middle Tennessee State University) and four players earn athletic scholarships at NCAA Division II institutions (including TNU volleyball alum, Zakia Jackson, 2016).

Moore remains active in the Junior Olympic club volleyball community. In 2011, she joined the coaching staff of Ethos Volleyball Club and helped grow the club to one of the largest in the middle Tennessee area. While serving as a Master Coach and Assistant Club Director, Moore launched in 2012 the Ethos North satellite branch in the Hendersonville area which remains the club's largest, most successful satellite branch. She returned to Nashville in 2014 to begin coaching in the Ethos Elite program. In addition to serving as a Master Coach, she also acts as the club's recruiting coordinator.

Moore received her BA in Political Science and History from Western Kentucky University in 2007 and earned her Master's in Education at Tennessee State University in 2012. In addition to coaching volleyball, she taught high school geography and English.

She has also served as an adjunct professor at Cumberland University School of Education.
