Alyssa Gage enters her sixth season with the Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball program and her first as Associate Head Coach. Since joining the program as a Graduate Assistant in 2019, Gage has steadily risen through the coaching ranks—serving as Assistant Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, and now Associate Head Coach. She also directs the Trevecca Regional Volleyball Team, reflecting her commitment to player development at all levels.
Gage was honored in 2025 as one of the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s (AVCA) prestigious Thirty Under 30 award recipients, recognizing her impact and leadership in collegiate volleyball.
Since her arrival, Gage has played a key role in Trevecca’s transformation. In her first season, she helped the team more than double its win total—from 7 to 16—and earn a spot in the conference tournament. That year also saw the development of the G-MAC Freshman of the Year and two other All-Conference selections. Under her guidance, the program has continued to grow, culminating in a record-tying 21-win season in 2022 and a trip to the G-MAC Championship Finals.
Gage specializes in the development of pin hitters and middle blockers. In 2022, she helped outside hitter Ellie Buffler reach her 1,000 career kill milestone and another G-MAC First Team selection. Middle blocker Sami Raley earned G-MAC Third Team honors, and Emma Green set a new Trevecca single-season blocking record. In 2024, Gage’s work with the middle blockers elevated Trevecca to the top blocking team in the Gulf South Conference. Junior Reese Payne broke the school record with 130 blocks, and senior Mackenzie O'Loughlin followed closely with 108. Both earned GSC Player of the Week honors, with O'Loughlin landing on the All-GSC First Team and earning All-Tournament honors in every pre-conference competition.
As Recruiting Coordinator, Gage has been instrumental in securing top-tier talent, building a competitive and deep roster for both the intercollegiate and Regional/JV teams. Her recruiting classes have consistently featured high-impact players poised to elevate the program further.
Before coaching, Gage had an impressive collegiate playing career. She began at the College of Central Florida, where she earned All-Conference and All-Tournament honors while helping lead the team to back-to-back conference titles. She then transferred to Southern Connecticut State University, where she played a vital role in the school’s first-ever NCAA tournament appearance and its first NE10 Conference Championship. Gage was a two-time NCAA tournament participant, NE10 MVP, and earned All-Region, All-ECAC, and AVCA All-America Honorable Mention honors.
Originally from Lecanto, Florida, Gage graduated from Seven Rivers Christian School. She holds an associate degree from the College of Central Florida, a bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies from Southern Connecticut State University, and a master’s in healthcare administration from Trevecca Nazarene University.
Her success as both a player and coach along with her passion, experience, she brings a competitive edge to the Trevecca volleyball program.
