McDermott is a five-foot-four goalkeeper from Mt. Juliet High School where she played for Bears coach Robert Brindos ... her club coach is Dusty Sharpe with the Tennessee United ... McDermott is the 2014 District 9-AAA Most Valuable Player ... as a senior she led the district with a 1.89 goals against average ... her combined goals-against-average over the last two seasons is 2.08 ... as she played in goal for Mt. Juliet the last two years she helped lead the team to their first two winning seasons in school history ... academically she ranked in the top 15% of her class ... she was nominated as a Governor's Star Volunteer ... she is graduating with honors and distinction as a Tennessee Scholar ... she also played on the 1997 TN ODP Team ... her parents are James and Marla McDermott.
