2024-25
The senior played in all 28 games this season with six starts ... averaged 3.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game from the guard position ... created 14 steals and had 44 assists, or 1.6 per game, which was tied for 17th best in the Gulf South Conference ... averaged 16.4 minutes per game and shot 37-of-52 at the foul line for a .712% mark ... scored a season-high 10 points in the win over Kentucky State on November 6.

2023-24
Averaged 7.7 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game, playing in 15 games with five starts … scored in double figures seven times, with a season and career-high 17 points against Holy Family (11/29) … finished three-year stay with the Lighting shooting 75% from the line, going 42-50 (84%) during final season.

2022-23
Played in 12 games … scored a season-high eight points against Indiana (PA) (12/11).

2021-22
Played in 15 games … netted a season-high six points in the season finale vs. Wilmington (2/26).

HIGH SCHOOL NOTES
During the 2020-21 season Varela was named the All-State Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year and the Day’s All-Area Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year … played for Courtney Gomez at Norwich Free Academy and helped lead the team to two Eastern Connecticut Conference Championships … averaged 15 points and five rebounds per game … also made the volleyball, track & field, and cross country teams.

Her mom is Ashley Pemberton and her siblings are Londyn Baker-Pemberton, Damian Varela, Xavier Varela, Elias Varela, and Leia Varela.
