Sanford, who was the Great Midwest Player of the Year while wearing the Purple and White, returend to Trevecca after playing three years of professional basketball overseas.

During his time in the Purple and White, Sanford cemented his place in the NCAA-era record books, holding top-five in 13 different statistical categories. Notably, Sanford has scored the most points all-time from the free-throw line for Trevecca, shooting 72% from the stripe.

Known for his ability to finish at the rim, Sanford also impacted the game by collecting loose balls. He grabbed the second-most NCAA-era rebounds all-time for the Trojans, averaging 6.8 per game from the point guard position. Sanford is also second in steals and assists all-time.

Sanford signed his first professional contract with the German league's Coburg in 2017-18. Sanford averaged 12 points per game in one season with Coburg to help his team to a 14-14 record.

Before the 2018-19 season, Sanford signed a contract with Silute of the Lithuania basketball league, where he spent two seasons. Over his two seasons, Sanford averaged 16.2 points per game, most recently helping Silute to a third-place finish.
