MT. JULIET NOTES

At Mt. Juliet High School, Helton scored 1,394 career points and averaged 18.6 points, 4.6 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.6 steals a game during his senior season. In his sophomore season he averaged 19.7 points per game and 16.4 ppg in his junior year. He earned all-region honors as a junior and senior while picking up all-district and all-district tournament team honors all four years.

Helton continues a line of former Mt. Juliet Bears continuing their playing careers on the Hill at Trevecca: Tim Bell, David Blanford, and Darryl Keckler are members of Trevecca's 1,000 point club who had tremendous careers at Mt. Juliet before arriving at Trevecca. Bell is in Trevecca's Athletic Hall of Fame and coached both Blanford and Keckler during their playing days at Mt. Juliet. Blandford was an All-American at Trevecca and Keckler provided a well-balanced attack in his days at Trevecca.

Trevecca head coach Sam Harris says, "Josh is a great addition to the program as a combo guard. He has a great feel for either guard spot and can score in transition or in the half court offensive sets. He continues Trevecca's connection to Mt. Juliet High School alumni with the tradition of former Bear greats graduating to wearing a Trojan uniform."
