Played at Jimtown HS, where he was a three-year middle infield starter for the Jimmies ... team MVP as a senior, when he batted .427 and earned all-conference and Indiana East All-Star honors ... also played tennis, helping team win four consecutive conference championships and earning all-conference and team MVP honors as a senior
