During his career, Trevecca amassed an 89-30 overall record during his three seasons and were 30-11 conference mark. Those were the first three seasons of Trevecca Hall of Fame baseball coach Elliot Johnson’s career on the Hill.

In his first season, 1980, Mills set the season earned run average record at Trevecca. A record that held for until 2004. His 2.12 ERA that season, is still fourth all-time.
His 2.36 ERA the following season, 1981, was the third best season ERA at the time, and is still seventh all-time.
His 2.69 ERA in 1982 was the fourth best at the time, it is still the 12th best.
Was drafted by the San Deigo Padres in the seventh round during the 1982 Major League Baseball draft. Mills reached the Triple A level, before an injury ended his run.
He started his pro career with the Reno Padres and also played for the Spokane Indians, Beaumont Golden Gators, Las Vegas Stars, Wichita Pilots, Dunedin Blue Jays, Knoxville Blue Jays, and the El Paso Diablos.
Mills was drafted in 1982 as well, in round 32 by the Cincinnati Reds.
