Jim Leggett joins the Trevecca baseball staff after spending the last two seasons as the pitching coach for the Patriots at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC.
Leggett coached at Lander University serving as the pitching coach for the Bearcat team that advanced to the 2016 NCAA Division II World Series.
Prior to his two years at Frances Marion, Leggett served at another Peach Belt Conference program, Lander University for two seasons. In 2016, his Lander Bearcats appeared in the NCAA Division II World series. The Bearcats did so with a pitching staff, led by Leggett, that registered a Peach Belt Conference-best 3.98 ERA.
A native of Rocky Mount, NC, Leggett is a 2014 graduate of East Carolina University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Physical Education.
Leggett graduated from Rocky Mount High School as the program's all-time winningest pitcher with 28 career victories. The 3A All-State selection is also a three-time All-Conference selection.
Out of high school, Leggett pitched for NCAA Division II Belmont Abbey College helping lead the Crusader program to the 2009 NCAA D2 College World Series. Leggett spent two seasons playing at Pitt Community College, contributing to a pair of region titles and the 2010 JUCO College World Series appearance.
Following college, Leggett assisted with two American Legion teams which reached the North Carolina State Tournament. He served as the head coach of a team in the Greenville Babe Ruth League for two seasons.
