LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team opened Gulf South Conference play on the road Thursday evening, falling 3-2 to West Alabama at UWA Softball Complex.
The Trojans (11-12, 7-12 GSC) battled throughout the contest, using timely hitting and a strong performance in the circle to stay within striking distance against West Alabama (24-7-1).
Series History
This marked the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs, with the series now tied at
2-2 following Thursday's result.
Trevecca won two of three last seasons in the series in Nashville and will look to continue that
success in the remaining games to take the lead in the all-time series.

Trevecca found its offensive spark in the sixth inning, rallying to tie the game after trailing early.
After
Bailey Goad reached base with a single,
Sarah Kinderdine delivered the biggest swing of
the night, launching a two-run home run to left field to even the score at 2-2 and bring
Kinderdine's homer total to three.
The Trojans generated opportunities throughout the game, collecting five hits. Shay
Hollingsworth, Addy Grace,
Kyleigh Burgett, and
Bailey Goad each recorded hits to contribute to the offensive effort.
In the circle,
Bailey Goad turned in a strong outing, pitching a complete game and allowing just
three runs while striking out nine batters across six innings. For Goad, this was her sixth
complete game of the season.
Trevecca threatened in the seventh inning after back-to-back hit-by-pitches put runners on base,
but West Alabama was able to hold on to secure the win.
