NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team continued Gulf South
Conference play Friday afternoon, sweeping a doubleheader from Delta State at the Trevecca
Softball Complex.
The Trojans (14-13, 10-13 GSC) used dominant pitching in the opener and explosive offense in game two to secure both wins over Delta State (12-28, 6-15 GSC), building momentum heading into Saturday's series finale.
Series History
These matchups marked the eighth and ninth all-time meetings between the two programs
dating back to 2014. Trevecca has controlled the series throughout, and with Friday's sweep,
improved its all-time record to 8-1 over the Statesmen.
The Trojans have now extended their dominance in the series and will look to complete the
sweep in Saturday's finale.
Trevecca 6, Delta State 1 (Game 1)
Trevecca leaned on a dominant performance from
Bailey Goad to open the doubleheader with a convincing win.
Goad was outstanding in the circle, tossing a complete game while allowing just one run on
seven hits and striking out five to keep Delta State's offense in check throughout. This
performance marked her ninth Win and her eighth Complete Game of the season.
Offensively, the Trojans provided steady run support early.
Annalise Mecklenburg delivered a
key RBI single in the first inning to put Trevecca on the board, while
Addy Grace Summers
added an RBI double in the second to extend the lead.
Trevecca broke the game open in the fourth inning. Mecklenburg came through again with a
two-run single, helping push the lead to 5-0.
Grace led the Trojans at the plate with three hits and two RBIs, while Mecklenburg added two
hits and three RBIs.
Sarah Nicholson also contributed with two hits, including a triple.

Trevecca's offense exploded in game two, highlighted by a milestone moment from Brookelyn
Miles.
In the second inning, Miles delivered the biggest swing of the day, launching a three-run home
run — the first of her collegiate career — to give the Trojans an early 3-0 lead.
The Trojans continued to add on in the inning, with
Shay Hollingsworth driving in a run and
eventually scoring to make it 5-0.
Trevecca added four more runs in the fifth inning to put the game away.
Annabelle Ellis
delivered a two-run single, while Miles added another RBI hit to cap a four-RBI performance.
Miles finished with two hits, four RBIs, and a stolen base, leading a balanced offensive effort
that saw Trevecca total 10 hits.
Zoe Lawrence and Ellis each added two hits, while Kyleigh
Burgett also recorded a multi-hit game.
In the circle,
Parker Herrin earned the win with a complete-game performance, allowing just one run over five innings.
