NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University cross country teams toe the line against programs from across the country Saturday, Oct. 10, when the Trojans compete in the Lewis Crossover at the Lewis Cross Country Course in Romeoville, Illinois.
The nation's largest NCAA Division II cross country meet provides Trevecca another opportunity to test its pack against a deep field as the championship portion of the season approaches. Last year's Crossover welcomed 37 schools, stretching from Alaska Fairbanks to Palm Beach Atlantic in Florida.
Trevecca brings momentum from its Sept. 26 Michael Pretorius Invitational, where the Trojan men finished second, and the women placed third at Andrew Jackson's The Hermitage. The performances earned three Gulf South Conference weekly honors and moved the program up several all-time lists.
"We're looking forward to another opportunity to compete this weekend," Trevecca head coach Kate Bucknam said. "I believe our team is ready to improve on last year's performance, and the competition at Lewis will push us toward that goal. Our athletes have been training hard over the past couple of weeks, and we're looking to build confidence as we move closer to the postseason."
