NASHVILLE - September brought record heat to Music City, and Trevecca Nazarene University's Trojans brought a hot streak of their own. As the first month of the 2026-27 season ended, it delivered national attention, program milestones, and weekly honors across all seven fall teams.
With Trevecca celebrating its 125th anniversary, the Purple and White have plenty for Trojan Nation to brag about as October begins. Then, Homecoming in the first week of November will bring the bigger Trojan family back to the Hill to keep that celebration going.
Give these Trojans a spot in your feed and mark your calendar. Bring a friend to a game and help the Purple and White defend the Hill.

MEN'S SOCCER
This team has refused to accept being picked eighth in the Gulf South Conference preseason coaches' poll.
The Trojans are 7-1-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the GSC after opening with seven unbeaten matches. They stand No. 5 in the Sept. 29 United Soccer Coaches Division II South Region poll and have received national Top 25 votes for two consecutive weeks.
A 1-0 win at No. 19 Carson-Newman was Trevecca's first on the Eagles' home field. A 1-1 draw at No. 20 UAH added another result against a ranked opponent. With 24 goals through 10 matches, the Trojans are one victory away from matching their NCAA Division II-era season high of eight. They share fourth in the GSC with Montevallo on eight points.
Chris Douglas has made his fall an international story. Called up to the Antigua and Barbuda national team, he scored twice and added two assists in a 5-0 win for his country. Once back in the Purple and White, he captured his first Trojan career hat trick including the winner with 1:07 remaining in Tuesday's 4-3 comeback at Freed-Hardeman. His 10 goals in eight appearances match Jonathan Baskin's NCAA-era single-season program high.
Freshman Zion Jones has supplied four goals of his own, including the late winner at Christian Brothers. Jones is one of three Jones brothers on the squad.
It's exciting to see a team that knows how to win close games. Learn more about men's soccer at www.tnutrojans.com or on the Trevecca Trojans app. Their next match is Saturday at 3:30 PM against Delta State at Trevecca.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
Kate Purvis delivered a long-awaited win for Trevecca. With just 41 seconds left against rival and No. 9 Lee, she scored off Cristina Escudero's free kick for a 1-0 victory. It was the Trojans' first win over the Flames since the series began in 2000. That's a memorable way to make your mark in program history.
Coach Matheus Mello's team followed with a 3-0 win at Christian Brothers, then a 3-1 victory at Tusculum on Sept. 30. Three straight wins have lifted Trevecca to 6-3-1 overall and 3-2 on the Gulf South table. The Trojans are No. 10 in the Sept. 29 South Region coaches' poll, their first appearance since moving from the Midwest to the South region, and sit sixth on the conference table with nine points, one behind three teams tied for third.
Penelope Charroin made eight saves against Lee and five at Christian Brothers, while Dani Witsman helped anchor the back line through 180 scoreless minutes. Earlier in the fall, Elsa Bengtsson delivered two goals and two assists across two road matches.
Scoring at the right moments has stood out, but holding onto those leads has been just as important. Find out more about the women's soccer team at www.tnutrojans.com or on the Trevecca Trojans app. Their next match is Saturday at 1:00 PM against Delta State at Trevecca.
VOLLEYBALL
UAH was ahead 14-12 in the fifth set and had two chances to win and keep their 10-1 record and perfect GSC record. But Trevecca came back, winning the next four points and the match. That comeback on September 22 against the GSC preseason favorite kicked off a four-match winning streak at home, with wins over Union, Christian Brothers, and Kentucky Wesleyan.
Coach Emily Moore's Trojans are 7-8 overall and 4-1 in the GSC, tied with Lee for second behind West Alabama. After reaching their first GSC championship match a year ago, they have plenty of reasons to get loud again at Trojan Fieldhouse.
Katilyn Grant hit .368 with 43 kills across the three conference wins, and Lily Vanbebber passed 1,000 career digs against Union, becoming the seventh NCAA-era Trojan to reach that mark. Brynne Krangnes recorded a double-double in each GSC victory. Her career-high 45 assists helped keep the UAH comeback alive. Isabella Sherrod had 15 kills and 20 digs against the Chargers, and Emma Schnitzer put down 18 kills against Union.

The Michael Pretorius Invitational, hosted by Trevecca, gave Andrew Jackson's The Hermitage its first collegiate cross country meet and first 8K race. Trevecca made the Sept. 26 debut count, finishing second with 52 points, two ahead of NCAA Division I Austin Peay.
Joshua Novotny placed fifth among 36 runners in 25:18.47, the eighth-fastest 8K performance in program history. Jack Jaeger finished eighth and Caden Meeks 10th. All seven Trojans improved their times from the Southern Showcase. The GSC honored Novotny for his efforts.
Their next meet is the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Illinois, on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Sarah Arnold followed in 13th at 19:41.25, and freshman Kate Brent finished 13th in 19:52.69, nearly a minute faster than her collegiate debut. Trevecca placed third with 68 points just behind NCAA D1 Lipscomb and APSU and ahead of also DI Tennessee State. Alsvig was named GSC Runner of the Week, and Kate Brent was named GSC Freshman of the Week.
They will compete again at the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Illinois, on Saturday, Oct. 10.
