Trevecca Women’s Basketball | Gillies Latest Trojan Named the State-wide TSWA Player of the Week Award

NASHVILLE - Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball standout Gillies is the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 25, 2026, following a strong 2–0 week for the Trojans.

Gillies tied a season high with 27 points in Trevecca's road win at Auburn Montgomery, shooting 9-of-16 from the field and 7-of-9 at the free-throw line, while adding four rebounds and six assists. She followed that effort with her third double-double of the season, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in a victory at her former school, Montevallo.

For the week, Gillies averaged 24.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, while shooting 48.5 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from three-point range, and 75.0 percent from the free-throw line. The performances marked her third and fourth 20-point games of the season.

Gillies' honor marks the second TSWA Women's Basketball Player of the Week award for the Trojans this season, as teammate Cheyenne Trotter previously earned the recognition on November 19.

The 2–0 week extended Trevecca's winning streak to five games and moved the Trojans into a tie for second place in the Gulf South Conference, after being picked 11th in the preseason poll. Trevecca has already matched significant year-over-year improvement, recording four more overall wins and four more GSC victories than last season.

Trevecca returns home this week to host Gulf South Conference opponents West Alabama on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.and UAH on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Trojans enter the week tied for second in the league standings, while UAH currently leads the GSC with an undefeated conference record.
