JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (2-2-0) dropped their first road match of the season with a 2-0 loss to Carson-Newman University (3-1-0) on Saturday afternoon at McCown Field.

With the loss, Trevecca falls to 2-4-2 against the Eagles in Women's Soccer.
THE MATCH
Carson-Newman took the lead just before halftime with a goal from Molly Bukiewicz in the 43rd minute. The Eagles would later add an insurance goal in the 88th minute courtesy of Felicia Frick.
Trevecca's defense held Carson-Newman to just one shot in the first half, but the Eagles responded with six more after the break, ultimately outshooting the Trojans on target (5-3).

Bailie Fiore recorded three saves, while Carson-Newman's defense and goalkeeper combined to hold the Trojans scoreless for the first time this season.

Trevecca will open Gulf South Conference play next Friday, September 19, with a road matchup against West Alabama (2-0-1). Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM in Livingston, Alabama.
