LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (22-13, 11-13 GSC) completed its three-game series against the University of West Alabama (25-14, 14-10 GSC) at the UWA Softball Complex Saturday afternoon.
Trevecca won the first game with a walk-off 3-2 victory and lost the second game 2-12.
SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
After this weekend series, Trevecca grabs a 2-1 lead in the historical series against the UWA Tigers in softball.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
TNU 3, UWA 2
The Tigers broke a scoreless game with an RBI double in the seventh, but
Maddie Poschke responded in the bottom half with a solo home run to tie it 1-1. After UWA scored again in the top of the 10th,
Ashlan Sensing tied it again with an RBI single.
In the 11th, Shea Hollingsworth advanced to third on a single and groundout before Poschke drove her in with a game-winning RBI groundout.

Ashlan Sensing delivered one of her best performances of the season, throwing all 11 innings. She allowed just two runs on 11 hits and struck out a season-high 12 to improve to 16-6.

- Maddie Poschke finished with two RBI, including the walk-off groundout and game-tying home run.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
TNU 2, UWA 12
West Alabama jumped out with a five-run first inning and never looked back. The Tigers piled on runs in four of five innings, finishing with 12 runs on nine hits and taking advantage of eight walks and an error by Trevecca.
Trevecca responded with a pair of runs in the third and fourth innings, including a sacrifice fly from
Madison Pruitt and an RBI bunt by
Sarah Nicholson. However, the early damage proved too much to overcome.
CIRCLE AND BOX NOTES
- Trevecca used four pitchers in the contest, with Rylee Veron taking the loss after facing five batters in the first.
- Callie Williams had two hits, including a double, while Madison Pruitt and Sarah Nicholson each added a hit and RBI in game two.
- West Alabama took advantage of eight walks and a wild pitch to keep pressure on the Trojans throughout the contest.
NEXT ON THE DIAMOND
Trevecca will visit Kentucky Wesleyan (5-24, 1-9 GMAC) in a non-conference doubleheader and then will visit Delta State University (11-23, 5-17 GSC) for another three-game series– first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
