CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (24-13, 13-13 GSC) faced Delta State University (11-25, 5-19 GSC) in a doubleheader on Friday afternoon.
The Trojans won the first game 3-1 and had a shutout 5-0 win in game two.

The Trojans extend their series lead to 5-1 over Delta State in the all-time softball matchup following today's doubleheader.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
TNU 3, DSU 1
Trevecca got on the board in the fifth inning after
Ashlan Sensing reached on a fielder's choice and an error at third allowed
Shay Hollingsworth to score.
Delta State tied the game with a solo home run in the sixth, but the Trojans responded in the seventh.
Maddie Poschke reached on an error, scoring
Sarah Kinderdine and
Cadence Jarrett to reclaim the lead.
Ashlan Sensing went the distance in the circle, throwing a complete game and holding Delta State to two hits while striking out four.

- Ashlan Sensing (W, 16-6) tossed a complete game with 4 strikeouts and no earned runs allowed.
- Maddie Poschke finished with two RBI on a key seventh-inning play.
- Delta State committed six errors, leading to all three Trevecca runs being unearned.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
TNU 5, DSU 0
The Trojans struck early and never looked back, scoring in four different innings to back another strong outing from
Ashlan Sensing and
Haylie Brooks.
Brianna Asmondy opened scoring in the first with an RBI double play, followed by an RBI double from
Kyleigh Burgett in the second.
Annabelle Ellis added two more runs with an RBI single in the fifth, and
Zoe Lawrence closed the scoring with a bunt sacrifice RBI in the sixth.
In the circle,
Sensing and
Brooks combined for a one-hit shutout, allowing no walks and striking out five.

- Ashlan Sensing (W, 17-6) pitched 5.0 innings of one-hit ball with four strikeouts.
- Annabelle Ellis went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
- The Trojans' defense was sharp with zero errors, while DSU committed three.
