CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (27-17, 16-17 GSC) closed its three-game weekend series against Lee University (25-25, 12-20 GSC) with an 8-1 win on Sunday afternoon at Butler Field.

After the weekend, Trevecca finishes the regular season leading the all-time series against the Flames 5-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
TNU 8, LEE 1
Trevecca jumped out to a fast start, scoring two runs in the first inning and adding another in the fourth for a 3-0 lead. The Trojans then broke it open with three runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
The big swings came from
Shay Hollingsworth, who crushed a three-run home run, and
Brianna Asmondy, who added a solo home run.
Annabelle Ellis also drove in a run with a double, while
Addy Grace Summers delivered an RBI double off the bench.
In the circle,
Ashlan Sensing started strong with three scoreless innings, and
Parker Herrin earned the win (3-1) after tossing 3.2 innings of relief.
Reagan Locke recorded the final out to seal the win.
