CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (26-17, 15-17 GSC) visited Lee University (25-24, 12-19 GSC) to open their three-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
The Trojans fell in both contests, dropping game one 5-3 and game two 9-3.
SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
These are the first two losses the Trojans have conceded against the Flames, bringing the all-time series to 4-2 in favor of the Purple and White.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
TNU 3, LEE 5
Trevecca took a quick 3-0 lead in the first two innings.
Kyleigh Burgett opened the scoring with an RBI double in the first, and later drove in two more with a second double in the second inning.
Lee clawed back, scoring a single run in the third and erupting for four runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by a grand slam from Alyson Jarvi, to overtake the Trojans and hold on for the win.

- Kyleigh Burgett went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI to lead the Trojan offense.
- Maddie Poschke added a hit and a run scored.
- Ashlan Sensing (L, 20-8) pitched six innings, allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out eight.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
TNU 3, LEE 9
Trevecca again started strong with two first-inning runs off a sacrifice fly from
Annabelle Ellis and an RBI single from
Brianna Asmondy.
Lee responded immediately, scoring in each of the first six innings, including a five-run stretch between the fourth and sixth innings, to pull away for a 9-3 win.

The Trojans, with a playoff berth already clinched (No. 8 seed), will close out the series against Lee Saturday at 12:00 p.m. before heading to the Gulf South Championships, where they will meet first-seeded Auburn Montgomery (34-10, 25-8 GSC) on Wednesday, April 30.
