CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (15-23, 11-14 GSC) jumped back into Gulf South Conference play against Delta State University (28-11, 20-5 GSC), at Ferriss Field on Friday afternoon.
The Statesmen beat the Trojans, 7-2.

DSU takes a 2-0 lead in the all-time series after defeating TNU by a run, 6-5 in a neutral site game last season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
A quiet start to the day for both offensive's saw a combined three hits through three full innings. The Trojans broke through first with a two-out solo home run off the bat of
Joey Parliment in the fourth before the offenses came alive over the fifth.
A double steal in the fifth gave the Trojans their largest lead of the day, but was the final time the visitors crossed home. DSU tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single followed by a run scoring double. A three-run homer to right field made it 5-2 Delta State and the hosts did not look back. A pair of insurance runs were plated for the Statesmen in the sixth off a single to left field as the home team hung on for the 7-2 victory.
