NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (19-12, 8-12 GSC) hosted Christian Brothers University (14-21, 5-15 GSC) for a doubleheader on Friday.
The Trojans took the first game 7-2 but fell in the second game 5-0.

After today's results, the Trojans still hold a 10-3 advantage in the all-time series against the Bucs in softball.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
TNU 7, CBU 2
Trevecca set the tone early when
Shay Hollingsworth launched a two-run home run to left field in the first inning, bringing in
Brianna Asmondy. The Trojans broke the game open in the third inning with a five-run burst that included RBI hits from Hollingsworth,
Zoe Lawrence,
Kylie Chetakian, and
Maddie Poschke.
Hollingsworth added a single that scored
Ashlan Sensing, who had reached base earlier in the inning. Lawrence followed with an RBI single of her own, and Chetakian's triple drove in another run. A final RBI single by Poschke capped the explosive frame.

Ashlan Sensing went the distance, tossing seven innings and striking out eight while giving up just four hits and two runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
TNU 0, CBU 5
Christian Brothers struck first with an RBI single by Riley Simpson in the top of the first and added two more in the second on a two-run single from Katelyn Harmon. The Bucs capped the scoring with a two-run homer from Simpson in the seventh.
Trevecca was held to just three hits and couldn't find an answer for CBU pitcher Gabby Dickerson, who went the distance and struck out seven without giving up a run.
