MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The No. 9 Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (9-3) closed up its first-ever Gulf South Conference series at the AUM Softball Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Trevecca fell to #2 Auburn University Montgomery (8-2) 2-0 and is still looking for its first GSC win on the season.
SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
The all-time series sits at 4-1 in favor of AUM. AUM won the first-ever meeting back in 2012, while the Trojans claimed victory in the most recent contest during the 2016 season.

Today's game was decided in the first inning alone. After the Trojans were sat down in order, AUM scored its only two runs of the day in the bottom half of the inning. A one out single brought in the first run of the day while a triple to right center cleared the bases, making it 2-0 AUM. The Trojans got hits in the second, fourth and seventh, but could not bring anyone home.

Ashlan Sensing (5-2) started and took her second loss of the season. She sat down seven on strikes over six innings of work with five hits and two earned runs.

The Trojans take on Valdosta State (5-8, 1-1 GSC) next Friday, February 22 in Valdosta, Georgia.
First pitch with the Blazers is set for 1:00 p.m. and is a doubleheader. The Trojans and Blazers have never met before in softball.
