NASHVILLE – The fourth annual Ray Thrasher Volleyball Classic concluded with the Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (0-3) dropping two matches on Saturday at Trojan Fieldhouse. Anderson University (1-2) edged the Trojans in four, 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-17, 25-22), while Quincy University (4-0) topped the Trojans in straight sets 25-18, 25-8, 25-19.
THE SERIES
The Anderson Trojans lead the series with the Trevecca Trojans 3-1. The Quincy Hawks are 4-0 all-time against the Trojans.

HOW IT HAPPENED
ANDERSON
TNU fell behind 5-2 in the first, but led 7-6 on a 5-1 run. Trevecca led 16-15 and looked to be in good position to pull off the win. The Anderson Trojans felt differently, rallying to build a 23-18 lead, eventually winning 25-20.
Trevecca opened the second set with a 5-0 run and didn't see Anderson gain a lead until they pulled ahead 16-15. The set looked in danger when Anderson pulled ahead 19-17. Trevecca flipped the set with a 4-0 run, taking the set 25-21.
Trevecca built a 12-8 lead in the third and looked to be in good shape, but Anderson rallied back to close the Trojan lead to one (17-16). Anderson got the sideout, then scored eight straight points on serve to win 25-17.
Trevecca didn't back down, building a 10-8 lead in the must-win fourth and led 20-15. Anderson rallied again, outscoring Trevecca 10-2 the rest of the way.
QUINCY
After Quincy scored the first point of the match, Trevecca took a 2-1 lead and didn't trail until the Hawks pulled ahead again at 9-8. The Hawks didn't relinquish the lead the rest of the set. With QU leading 15-14, the Hawks put their foot on the gas pedal, pulling ahead 20-14 with a 5-0 run.
In the second set, it was quite different. A 10-2 start to the set for the Hawks set the tone. The Hawks hit .586 in the set, with 17 kills against no errors in 29 attempts. QU won 25-8.
The Hawks looked to be on pace for another walk with a 7-2 start. Trevecca closed the gap to 9-8 with a 6-2 run. Trevecca never gained a tie or took the lead, but the set remained close through the heart of the set. QU led 17-16, but earned some separation with a 5-1 run, closing out the set and the match with a 25-19 win.
THE TEAM
ANDERSON
Anderson hit .175 for the match, peaking at .235 in the second. AU had 12 service aces and 10 blocks. Trevecca hit .538 in the second with 15 kills against one error on 26 attempts. TNU had five service aces, but 12 service errors.
QUINCY
The Hawks hit .388 for the match with a .586 attack percentage in the second. TNU hit .028 for the match.
THE PLAYERS
ANDERSON
Josie Hill and Mackenzie O'Loughlin each had eight kills to lead Trevecca. Lily Vanbebber had a team-high three service aces. Mackenzie O'Loughlin had a team-high six blocks.
QUINCY
Emma Titus led the Trojan effort with eight kills and four digs. She hit .263 for the match.
