OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team played their first day at the 2024 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships at The Pearl Club. It is the eleventh G-MAC women's championship.
Trevecca is sixth with a 332-321=653 and were led by Jodie Taylor (79-78=157) in 12th and Gabriela Mead (83-77=160) in 17th place.
The teams played 36-holes on Monday and will conclude stroke play on Friday with another 18-holes.

The senior led the team with five birdies in the first two rounds on Monday. She had two in round one and three more in round two.
Jodie Taylor finished tied for fourth in the field on the par-five holes with a one-under-par average of 4.88. She finished eighth on the par-four holes with a 4.40 average on the day.

She added birdie on the back nine of her second round.

TROJAN NOTES
Trevecca's low round of the year is a 310 in the second round of the Bearcat Invitational. The Bearcat is where the team played their only 54-hole event of the year. They shot a 334-310-324=968. Their low 36-hole total was a 321-317=638 in the season opening Champions of Women's Golf (Par 70).
THE GREAT MIDWEST FORMAT
The 2024 championship features a 54-hole stroke play event, with 36 holes played on Thursday and a final 18 holes on Friday.
The Pearl Club is setup for a par of 72 over 5,913 yards to challenge the 14 teams and 70 golfers during the 54-hole stroke play portion and the final medal match play round on Saturday.
The medal match play round features the two low teams from the 54-hole stroke play portion of the tournament.
A final head-to-head medal match play section is scheduled for Saturday between the top two teams to determine the team champion.
Live coverage of the championships will be available on the Great Midwest Digital Network with live scoring updates through GolfStat.
THE GREAT MIDWEST MEDALIST
The 2024 Great Midwest Individual Medalist will be the golfer with the lowest score over the 54-hole Stroke Play section.
GREAT MIDWEST ALL-CONFERENCE SELECTIONS
The all-conference team award is awarded to the low eight individual scores at the championships and ties. One week later, another eight golfers are added to the all-conference team as determined by a vote of the league's coaches.

TREVECCA | GREAT MIDWEST CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
Trevecca captured the first five Great Midwest Women's Golf titles, while the University of Findlay has won the last five championships.
TREVECCA & INDIVIDUALS AT NCAA REGIONAL & NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
In 2017, Alexa Rippy became (NCAA Region Report) the first Trevecca and Great Midwest golfer to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships.
In 2015 Alexa Rippy advanced to the NCAA East Region and finished eighth. She is the first Trojan to earn her way to an NCAA Regional.
The entire team reached the NCAA East Regional in 2016 (Kaylon King, Alexa Rippy, Mikayla Dodson, Marlee Stecker, Haley Smith).
Alexa Rippy (2017) and Rachael McMahan (2018) both advanced to the NCAA Division II East Super Region as individuals.
Emma McCloskey reached the region as an individual in 2022.
