ASHLAND, Ohio – The sixth-seeded Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (19-11) advanced to the Finals of the 2024 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships, but lost, 99-58 to No. 1 and defending national champion Ashland University (30-1) at Kates Gym on the campus of Ashland University.

Faith Wilken were honored with selection to the 2024 Great Midwest Athletic Conference All-Tournament team. Carter averaged 24.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in the tournament while adding 14 assists, a block, and six steals. Wilken averaged 13.3 points and 3.3 rebound per game while adding four assists, three blocks, and two steals. Wilken hit 7-for-18 from three (38.9%).
For the second year in a row the Trojans made the Great Midwest Finals and faced No. 1 Ashland. The Eagles won the NCAA Division II National Championship with an undefeated record.
Reaching the finals increases the chances the Trojans will make a return trip to the NCAA Division II Championships at next week's Midwest Regional. Trevecca was ranked seventh in last week's regional ranking, the top eight in next week's ranking will advance to the regional.
The Midwest Regional begins with the quarterfinals on Friday, March 15. The semifinals are Saturday, March 16. The finals are Monday, March 18. Grand Valley State University is the No. 1 team in the region and are playing in the GLIAC Finals on Sunday. With a championship game win, they are likely to host the regional.

BREAKING IT DOWN
Trevecca led 3-2, but Ashland went on a 10-0 run to take a 12-3 lead with 7:38 to go. Trevecca responded with a 14-9 run to close the gap to just four (21-17) with 1:26 left. At the end of the first quarter, AU led 25-19.
The second quarter decided the game. A massive 33-11 run over the 10-minute quarter put Ashland up 58-30 at the break. The Trojans were never able to cut into the lead as the Eagles shot 58.2% from the field and 48.5% (16-32) from three-point range for the game.
KEY PLAYERS
Keeley Carter finished with 22 points and four rebounds. She was the only Trojan who scored in double digits.
TEAM TIME
The Trojans had one of their lowest outputs shooting on the year. Hitting just 32.1% (17-53) from the field, 17.6% (3-17) from three-point range, and 80.8% (21-26) from the foul line. The Eagles outrebounded the Trojans 42-28.
