NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (14-7, 10-4 G-MAC) extended its winning streak to six with the win over Cedarville University (5-15, 3-10 G-MAC), 80-53, on Thursday night in Trojan Fieldhouse.
With the win, Trevecca picked up its second straight win over Cedarville. The Trojans stopped the Yellow Jackets' 14-game win streak in last season's only meeting with the 75-61 win in Trojan Fieldhouse. Cedarville holds a 17-5 all-time advantage.
BREAKING IT DOWN
Keeley Carter opened the scoring for Trevecca with a basket before the Trojans fell into a 5-2 hole. A 9-0 run erased the deficit and allowed Trevecca to lead the rest of the quarter. Defensively, Trevecca locked in during that stretch too as after the 3-pointer from Brianna Zajicek gave the visitors a 5-2 lead, the Yellow Jackets needed almost four minutes to score again. Trevecca led 28-17 after the first quarter.
The Trojans opened the second quarter on an 8-2 run to nearly double up the Yellow Jackets at 36-19. Baskets from

Faith Wilken gave the Trojans their largest lead of the game in the closing minutes of the quarter to help Trevecca enjoy a 47-27 lead halftime.
After the Yellow Jackets opened the second half with a quick 6-0 run, the Trojans punched right back nine straight points of their own to recapture their advantage. The teams traded baskets in the final two minutes of the third before Trevecca took a 62-39 lead into the fourth.
KEY PLAYERS
Keeley Carter just edged out
Lili Wilken to lead the Trojans with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Wilken added 17 points and seven rebounds to go with two assists.
Faith Wilken just missed double digits with nine points while hauling in six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals.
TEAM TIME
Trevecca shot 43.1% from the field and shot 8-19 (42.1%) from deep. The Trojans shot 16-22 (72.7%) at the free-throw line. Trevecca was out rebounded by Cedarville 49-42 but doubled the visitors up in assists (17-8), blocks (6-3) and steals (14-7).
UP NEXT
The Trojans continue their four-game homestand when Kentucky Wesleyan College (15-4, 10-3 G-MAC) visits a week from tonight on February 15, at 5:30 pm.
The Trojans picked up two wins over the Panthers last season, including knocking out KWC in the semifinals of the Great Midwest tournament. KWC leads the all-time series 17-7.
