COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (13-7, 8-4 Great Midwest) fell in overtime to Ohio Dominican University (4-13, 1-9 Great Midwest), 81-76, on Saturday afternoon in Alumni Hall.
The Trojans trail the all-time series with the Panthers 8-5 after knocking off ODU in Trojan Fieldhouse 51-44 in the previous meeting.
BREAKING IT DOWN
Fueled by back-to-back 3-pointers to open the game, the Trojans jumped out to a quick 10-2 lead in the opening four minutes. The Panthers clawed their way back into the game and around the midway point of the half used a 10-0 run to lead 17-14 with 9:14 to play. The Trojans tied it up at 19-19 with 7:35 to go and both sides traded baskets until meeting at a 30-30 halftime tie.
The second half was much of the same as the closing moments of the first. Down one at 39-38, Trevecca used a 9-0 run to take a 44-38, the largest lead of the half until Jalen Page's 3-pointer with 12:39 to go gave the Trojans a seven point lead. The Panthers managed to erase the Trojans six-point lead in the final minutes as the hosts tied the game at 58-58 with 2:46 to go. Quick baskets with less than a minute saw Trevecca leading 65-61 with just :24 to play. A Panthers basket and quick steal by the home side forced overtime.
ODU connected for a 3-pointer to open the scoring in overtime and led the entire way. Trevecca tied it at 70-70 but ultimately fell 81-76.
KEY PLAYERS
Jalen Page produced a team-high 31 points with six rebounds and five steals. Tommy Gankhuyag finished off his double-double outing with 18 points and 15 rebounds, a team-high. Peter Lambesis also reached double figures with 12 points and eight rebounds.
TEAM TIME
Trevecca shot 41.3% (26-63) from the field was 21.4% (6-28) from deep and was 66.7% (18-27) from the foul line. Trevecca had the edge in rebounds 42-34 but had fewer assists 15-13, with two more steals, 8-6.

The Trojans return to Nashville for a four-game homestand when they host Cedarville University (16-5, 10-1 G-MAC) on Thursday, February 8 at 7:30 pm. The Trojans and Yellow Jackets meet for the 27th time. Cedarville leads the series 18-8 after winning last season's only meeting.
