Trevecca Women’s Soccer | Shutout Victory Brings Trojans’ Season to an End

Memphis, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (4-7-3, 3-5-3 GSC) closed out their regular season with a solid 2-0 victory over Christian Brothers University (0-15-1, 0-11-1 GSC).
 
THE SERIES

This was the sixth meeting between Trevecca and Christian Brothers, with the Trojans claiming their first win over the Buccaneers.
 
THE GAME

The Trojans opened the scoring in the 37th minute when Katie Whiting sent a shot into the low left corner, assisted by Anna Farrell.
 
Trevecca continued their offensive pressure into the second half, doubling their lead in the 61st minute as Farrell scored, assisted by Hailey Wilkinson.
 
The Trojans' defense held firm throughout, limiting Christian Brothers' offensive opportunities and securing a shutout victory.
 
SEASON NOTES

The second season for Nathan Harrell and first for Trevecca in the Gulf South Conference concluded with a 2-0 road win at Christian Brothers University in Memphis.

One of the highlights to the season came in three consecutive matches. Starting with a 2-2 tie with the University of West Alabama. The Trojans followed that up with a 4-2 win on the road at Auburn University in Montgomery. In their next match, before the home crowd, the Purple and White produced a memorable 1-1 tie with nationally ranked and conference leader University of West Florida.

After a tough 2-1 loss to Spring Hill, the Trojans measured the Lee Flames 1-1 before the home crowd.
In eight of their 15 matches, the Trojans held their opponents to a goal or less.
 
SENIORS

Katelyn Keogh scored 19 goals in her career with six assists and 44 points. Keogh scored two game-winning-goals over her 57 match career. She scored two goals four different times. She finishes with the fifth most points for a Trojan in the NCAA Division II era. Her 19 goals rank her sixth all time. She is tied for 17th in assists.
 
Taylor Loftus played in 51 matches with 37 starts and played a crucial role on the Trojan defense her entire career.
 
Skye Baun finished her three-year career with 11 goals, two assists, and 24 points. She had four game-winning -goals. She is tied for the 14th most points in the NCAA era. She finishes her career tied for tenth in goals scored.
 
Isabel Felger finished her career with ten assists, three goals, and 16 points. She had one game winning goal. She finishes her career tied for fifth in assists during the NCAA D2 era.
 
Layne Goodbread finished her career with a 1-1 record and produced a 1.82 goals against average. She combined to produce a shutout in her final game as a Trojan.
 
Lainey Callis played in 24 matches with 11 starts in. her two years On the Hill.
 
Paige Long, a defender, played in 52 matches and started 47 during her career.
 
Allie Windom scored three goals and totaled six points in her two years on the Hill.
 
Jamie Stark has played 29 games with ten starts in her career as a defender.
 
SEASON LEADERS

Junior Bailie Fiore went 4-8-2 on the year, adding to her career record, 10-12-7, in goal. She added two shutouts and now has five career shutouts. Her career goals against average is 1.44 through three seasons.
 
Skye Baun led the team with four goals and eight points.
 
Katelyn Keogh and Anna Farrell each scored three goals and added an assist for seven points on the year.
 
Kayelee Maners led the team with three assists and added a goal for five points on the season.
 
Allie Windom scored twice and finished with a four-point season.
