BREAKING IT DOWN
Coming off an electric game on Thursday night, the Trojans needed a little extra time to get control of the game versus Northwood. In the first nine minutes, the visitors, fueled by nine points from Jordan Jackson, held an 18-12 lead. Trevecca countered with a 9-0 run to recapture the lead they would not surrender the rest of the half. The Trojans commanded a 34-29 lead at halftime.

Behind eight straight points from Jaylen Hodges, the Timberwolves clawed their way back into the game in the second half. Northwood briefly took the lead at 37-36 with 17:48 to play before the Trojans collected three straight points at the foul line to lead 39-37. Both sides' three point games came to life for the next several minutes as they settled into an offensive rhythm. Trevecca could not manage more than five margin the rest of the way as Northwood hung around and even took as much as a three point lead at 4:46 (62-59). Down the stretch, Jamal Cannady nailed four straight free-throws to level the scoring at 67-67 and push the game into overtime.

Trevecca jumped out early in the extra period scoring eight of the first 11 points from either team. Northwood managed just three total baskets in overtime for eight points as once again it was Jamal Cannady's free throw shooting that sealed the victory for Trevecca. Two made foul shots by Cannady with just :25 to play saw the Trojans lead grow from 75-72 to 77-72 and all but claim the seventh straight win in league play. Peter Lambesissunk the final foul shot for the Trojans who took the 78-75 overtime win.
