Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (2-20, 1-15 Great Midwest) hosted Cedarville University (17-6, 10-5 Great Midwest) on Monday afternoon and fell 84-55.
THE SERIES
The Yellow Jackets own the all-time series lead, 18-8. Cedarville won the previous meeting on February 5, 2022, in Ohio by the score of 91-68. On January 1, 2022, the Trojan's win broke a nine-game winning streak for the Yellow Jackets in the series.
THE FLOW
Cedarville controlled play early on in the first half. Then Caleb Terry gave the Trojans a 14-12 lead following a 7-2 run with 12:41 left in the first half. Cedarville's defense then began to clamp down on the Trojans as they held Trevecca to 20 first half points. The Yellow Jackets offense continued to roll in the meantime. Cedarville maintained their lead throughout the rest of the game as the Trojan's deficit was too large to overcome, despite made threes from Jake Mulder.
THE PLAYERS
Jose Waring led the Trojans with 16 points and five rebounds. Jake Mulder had 15 points.
THE TEAMS
The Trojans shot 33.3% (18-54) from the floor, 30% (6-20) from three-point range, and 81.3% (13-16) from the free-throw line.
UP NEXT
The Trojans host the University of Findlay (12-10, 7-7 Great Midwest) on Thursday at 7:30 PM. The Oilers lead the all-time series 14-0. The first meeting came during the 2016-2017 season when the Oilers moved to the Great Midwest.
