Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (20-8, 15-5 Great Midwest) hosted Walsh University (12-17, 10-10 Great Midwest) for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Quarterfinals and won 67-61. With the win, the Trojans advance to the G-MAC Semifinals on Friday to face Kentucky Wesleyan College (23-5, 18-2 Great Midwest) at 7:30 ET in Ashland, Ohio.
THE SERIES
The Trojans are 5-7 against Walsh all-time and snapped a six-game win streak of Walsh earlier this season with a 67-60 win on January 7. The Trojans have won three in a row in the series and swept the regular season series with a 57-52 win on January 28th.
THE FLOW
Both teams battled it out for the first four minutes of the game. Then after being up 10-9, Walsh built up an eight-point lead with 3:19 to go in the first quarter. Then the Trojans got hot as a Faith Wilken three-pointer kickstarted a 14-0 Trojan run to take a 27-21 lead at the beginning of the second quarter. Walsh made a late push as the first half ran down, and they cut the Trojan's lead down to 35-34.
The first five minutes of the third quarter were tightly contested as teams traded buckets back and forth. Then the Trojans pulled ahead after five straight points, including a Faith Wilken three to build up a 48-41 lead with 3:52 left in the third quarter. Trevecca headed into the final frame up 48-45. Walsh fought early in the fourth quarter and tied the game up at 55-55 with 4:35 left. Following that, the Trojans got hot, and Emma Palmer made a bucket to kickstart 11 straight points to put the game out of reach for Walsh.
THE PLAYERS
Keeley Carter led the Trojans with 22 points and six rebounds, she also had four assists. Emma Palmer had 20 points and five rebounds. Lili Wilken added 12 points and five rebounds.
THE TEAMS
The Trojans shot 54.2% (26-48) from the floor, 28.6% (4-14) from three-point range, and 73.3% (11-15) from the free-throw line. The Trojans outrebounded Walsh 32-30.

TREVECCA GREAT MIDWEST POSTSEASON HISTORY NOTES
2012-13
In the very first season of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, the Trojans won the regular season title and hosted the first championships at Trojan Fieldhouse. Trevecca beat Central State in the semifinals before falling to Urbana in the championship.
2013-14
In year two of the Great Midwest Championships, Trevecca again won the regular season and earned host honors of the championships. Trevecca again defeated Central State in the tournament opener, this time in the quarterfinal round. In the semifinals, Trevecca defeated Ursuline. Kentucky Wesleyan knocked off Trevecca in the championship.
2014-2015
Trevecca earned the second seed at the G-MAC Championships hosted by Cedarville. Trevecca received a bye in the quarterfinals but lost to third-seeded Kentucky Wesleyan in the semifinals.
2015-16
Trevecca entered the Great Midwest Championships as the fifth seed and upset Davis & Elkins in the quarterfinals before falling to top-seeded Ursuline in the semifinals.
2018-19
Trevecca reached the postseason championships for the first time in three years as the eighth seed. Top-seed Walsh ended the Trojan's season in the quarterfinals.
2020-21
After a year away, the Trojans returned to the Great Midwest Championships as the seventh seed. The second-seeded KWC Panthers defeated the Trojans in the quarterfinals.
UNDEFEATED AT THE FIELDHOUSE
Trevecca finished their home slate undefeated going 14-0 during the regular season and postseason in Trojan Fieldhouse. Add in their home win to end last season and the team has won 15 in a row at the Fieldhouse. In comparison, the Trojans were 2-12 at home last season.
The Trojan's previous best home record in the Div. II era is a 12-2 record in the 2012-13 season. The last Trojan club to go undefeated at home is the 2006-2007 team who went 14-0 at Trojan Fieldhouse and 27-7 overall.
UP NEXT
With the win, the Trojans advance to the G-MAC Semifinals on Friday to face Kentucky Wesleyan College (23-5, 18-2 Great Midwest) at 6:30 CT in Ashland, Ohio. The Panthers lead the series 17-6, and the Trojans snapped a Panther's 12-game win streak earlier this season in a 63-55 win at Trojan Fieldhouse.
