Box Score PEPPER PIKE, Ohio. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (19-8, 15-5 Great Midwest) traveled to Ursuline College (13-15, 9-11 Great Midwest) to wrap up the 2022-23 regular season on Saturday afternoon and won 70-65. The win gives Trevecca an outright third-place finish in the final Great Midwest regular standings. The Trojan, who was picked to finish #12 in the 13-team Great Midwest in the preseason coaches poll, are the third seed in the 2023 Great Midwest Championships and host a quarterfinal game on Tuesday, February 25 at 6:30 PM. The Trojans face sixth-seed Walsh University.

THE SERIES
Ursuline leads the all-time series 10-9 between the two original members of the Great Midwest. The Trojans snapped a four-game Ursuline win streak. The Trojans last won on January 31, 2019. Trevecca won the first seven meetings in the series.
THE FLOW
After giving up the first four points, the Trojans got in gear and scored the following eight points, which included a Faith Wilken three. The Arrows took the lead as the clock ran down in the first quarter. However, the Trojans scored five straight, including a three from Bayleigh Carmichel, to retake the lead to end the quarter up 15-13. In the second quarter, the Trojans maintained their lead. Lili Wilken hit a trio of threes during the second quarter, and Trevecca went into halftime up 33-26.
Keeley Carter scored six straight points to begin the second half and extend the Trojan's lead to 39-26 with 7:51 left in the third quarter. Ursuline went on a run and eventually got within two points. But the Trojans ended the third quarter on an 11-5 run to get their lead back up to 52-44. Ursuline got hot down the stretch and got within one point with 2:06 left. But the Trojans held on to win.
THE PLAYERS
Keeley Carter led the Trojans with 24 points and four rebounds. Bayleigh Carmichel and Lili Wilken both had 12 points. Emma Palmer added 10 points and six rebounds.
THE TEAMS
The Trojans shot 42.9% (24-56) from the floor, 45% (9-20) from three-point range, and 81.3% (13-16) from the free-throw line. The Trojans outrebounded Ursuline 33-29.
UP NEXT
The Trojans will return to Trojan Fieldhouse as the number three seed to host a Great Midwest Quarterfinal game against Walsh University (11-16, 9-10 Great Midwest) on Tuesday at 6:30 PM. The Trojans are 4-7 all-time versus Walsh. Trevecca won 67-60 against the Cavaliers on January 28, snapping a six-game Walsh win streak in the series.
