Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (2-22, 1-17 Great Midwest) hosted Tiffin University (11-13, 8-8 Great Midwest) on Saturday afternoon and fell 71-60.
THE SERIES
Tiffin has the lead in the all-time series 7-3. Tiffin has won the last four meetings against the Trojans, including a 73-50 meeting on January 12 earlier this season in Ohio.
THE FLOW
The first half was controlled by Tiffin as they held the Trojans to 15 first half points while piling on the points. Tiffin led 40-15 at halftime. The Trojans opened the second half on a 7-2 run to chip away at their deficit. Then after being down 55-27 with 12:32 left in the game, the Trojans came to life as they stormed back to get within nine points following a 28-10 run. However, the Trojans ran out of time as their rally would fall just short.
THE PLAYERS
Gus Davenport led the Trojans with 16 points and six rebounds. Jose Waring had 12 points and three rebounds. Jake Mulder added 11 points.
THE TEAMS
The Trojans shot 48% (24-50) from the floor, 21.7% (5-23) from three-point range, and 46.2% (6-13) from the free-throw line.
UP NEXT
The Trojans will go on the road to face Kentucky Wesleyan (11-12, 7-8 Great Midwest) on Thursday at 7:45 PM. The Panthers own a 16-3 advantage in the series. KWC has won 12 of the last 13. Including the previous meeting this season 65-57 at Trojan Fieldhouse.
