Trevecca Women's Basketball | Undefeated Ursuline Handle Trojans

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball team (3-4, 1-1 G-MAC) played their first Great Midwest Athletic Conference road game and came away with a resounding 85-43 loss at Ursuline College (8-0, 3-0 G-MAC) on Thursday night in Jane and Lee Seidman Gymnasium. 

Trevecca had won the last two meetings, winning both games last season. With the win, the Arrows hold an 11-10 edge in the all-time series. Trevecca won the first seven meetings in the series. Prior to last season, the Arrows had won 10 of the previous 11.
 
It is the first time the Trojans have not hit a three pointer since going 0-15 from three-point range on February 11, 2013 in a 75-52 win over Central State University at Beacom/Lewis Gym in Wilberforce, Ohio.
33. The shutout from deep breaks a streak of 275 games with at least one made three-pointer.
 

BREAKING IT DOWN 
Trevecca scored the opening basket for a 2-0 lead, but Ursuline scored the next 11 for a 11-2 lead with 6:41 left in the quarter. Trevecca cut the lead to five, but the Arrows led 20-12 at the end of the first quarter.

 
With 6:07 left in the first half, the Arrow lead was seven (25-18). UC essentially salted the game away outscoring the Trojans 21-12 over the rest of the quarter and took a 17-point (41-24) lead into intermission.
 
The hosts extended their lead to as much as 30 in the third quarter and led 61-33 at the end of three.
 
With 4:22 left in the fourth the Ursuline lead was 46 (80-34), that would prove to their largest lead. When the dust settled, Ursuline won 85-43.
 
KEY PLAYERS 
Only Kor Fornesa Liu reached double figures in scoring for the Trojans with 11.   
 

TEAM TIME 
The Trojans shot 32.1% (17-53) from the field and came up empty in 12 attempts from deep.

The Trojans were outrebounded 33-18. After hitting 6-10 from the field in the first quarter, the Trojans were a combined 11-43 from the field in the final three quarters.
 
UP NEXT 
The Trojans head to at Painesville, Ohio to take on Lake Erie College (1-3, 0-2 Great Midwest) on Saturday, December 9 (1:00 PM). 

 
Trevecca leads the Lake Erie series, 7-2, but the Storm beat the Trojans in the last meeting, 67-64. LEC won the first meeting in the series, meaning Trevecca claimed the next seven.
