MURFREESBORO – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team hosted their 2023 Music City Invitational at the Old Fort Golf Course this week.
The temperatures dropped more than 30 degrees from Sunday's high of 80 when the field played a practice round. The high on Monday hit just 46 with rain coming down a great deal of the day. Saturday brought sun and warmer temps.
The Trojans finished ninth overall with a 32-323=647.
Ava Pulley was the low Trojan through the first round on Monday. Pulley shot a 78 and tied for eleventh in the 71-person field.
On Tuesday it was
Jodie Taylor surging to the lead for the Trojans with an 83-76=159. She finished just ahead of
Sara Blake Coley who was steady throughout and finished with a 79-81=160. Pulley came in third for the Trojans with a 78-84=162.

TROJAN NOTES
JODIE TAYLOR
Taylor returned to form on Tuesday in a big way, with a two-over par performance that pushed her all the way to the top 25.
Her three birdies on Tuesday helped her to a one-under on the front nine. She birdied a pair of par four holes (312 yard No. 4 / 325 yard No. 7) and on the back nine, she birdied the 132 yard No. 17.
AVA PULLEY
The freshmen from Uniontown, Ohio was two-over on the back-nine on Monday with a birdie on the 484 yard par-five No. 14.
SARA BLAKE COLEY
The 79-80=160 is a season low for Coley for a 36-hole event.
She finished with two birdies over the tournament.
The Junior finished with a 5.13 average on the par five holes, finishing twelfth in the field.
Sara Blake Coley birdied the 340 yard par four No. 16 on Tuesday.
Coley had a birdie on the 462 yard par-five No. 2 on Monday and turned in a three-over back nine.
Tied for second best in the field on Monday on the par five holes with a 4.75 average (one under par).
GABRIELA MEAD
Tuesday, Mead birdied the 3284 yard par four No. 13.
She finished with two birdies for the tournament.
Mead birdied the 367 par-three No. 1 on Monday.
AVA NEAL

The 79-84=163 is as season low for Neal over 36-holes.
Tuesday, Neal birdied the 484 yard par five No. 14.
Played the par three holes even Monday, finishing in a tie for fifth in the field.
Neal finished eighth in the field on the par three holes, playing them one over for the 36-holes at a 3.13 average.
MAKENZIE NORWOOD

For Norwood, the 85-79=164 is one stroke lower than her previous season low.
Norwood had a team-high 12 pars on Tuesday.
Like
Ava Pulley, Norwood birdied the 484 yard par-five No. 14 on Monday.
TEAM NOTES
For the 36-hole event, Trevecca had 82 pars and eight birdies as a team.
The team combined to record three birdies on Monday with
Makenzie Norwood, playing as an individual, grabbing another one for TNU.
NEXT
The team ramps up again in the Spring when they head to the Converse College Invitational at the Country Club of the Carolinas March 11-12. The SVSU (Saginaw Valley State University) Invitational is March 16-17 at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Ky.
Trevecca heads to the Lander University Bearcat Invitational at the Greenwood (S.C.) Country Club March 25-26 and the Triton Invitational hosted by the University of Missouri St. Louis at the Norwood Hills Country Club April 7-8, 2024.
Later, the team sets its sights on The Pearl Club in Owensboro, Ky. where the 2023 Great Midwest Championships are scheduled for April 25-26-27, 2024.
