NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Trevecca Nazarene University Women's Soccer team (6-4-4, 6-1-4 Great Midwest) won, 4-1, on the road at Walsh University (8-5-1, 6-5-0 Great Midwest) at Larry Staudt Field, giving the Trojans their sixth conference win and a tie for fourth on the conference table.
Taylor Tomlinson put the Cavaliers on the board first at 17:29 in this Great Midwest match. Despite numerous opportunities, this would be the Cavalier's only goal.
Then, at 38:01,
Kelsey Havican, assisted by
Jenna Woods, scored the equalizer for the Trojan's and that's how the match went to intermission, tied 1-1.
It was all Trojans in the second half. Starting with a
Katelyn Keogh goal, assisted by
Isabel Felger, giving the Trojans a 2-1 at 51:38.
Skye Baun, with the help of beautiful feed by
Grace Oliver, kept the Trojans going with a counter attack goal at 80:46, giving the Trojans a 3-1 lead.
Katelyn Keogh added her second goal at 88:03 to up her season goal total to five. Out of her three shots taken, two were on goal and both met the back of the net.
Out of nine shots from the Trojan's, seven were on goal and four made it in the back of the nets.
Trevecca's goalie,
Bailie Fiore, faced 25 shots and made eight (8) saves out of the nine (9) shots on goal made by Walsh, claiming a season high in both categories.
